This young man, who calls me "mom" and I have grown to call "son", unexpectedly showed up on his 21st birthday. He didn't really have any other plans and his mom was working so he just hung around our house for the afternoon into the evening. I was so proud of him for not going out and making unwise choices. He joined the rest of the crew here...my parents, sister and her kiddos and we all played some games, chatted and watched a movie. To finish the night out with a bang, his buddy and my other "son", Bryan, brought over a delicious cake, we chowed down and then called it a night.
